| Description: | JOB SUMMARY:
Career Step is seeking a talented Sr. Software Engineer to play a key leadership role in the design, development, and implementation of the Career Step product line. We are looking for a creative problem solver with critical thinking skills who will be an enthusiastic team player. The person in this position will be expected to work under minimal supervision and provide high-quality software programming, systems support and testing. This person must be someone who defines success through delivering high-quality code in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
� Take a leading role in architecting, developing and deploying data driven web applications
� Responsible for analysis, support, enhancements and extending the functionality of current programs and databases, including performance, diagnosis, troubleshooting, designing, and implementing solutions.
� Document code consistently throughout the development process by listing a description of the program, special instructions, and any changes made in database tables on procedural, modular and database level.
� Support department software development lifecycle processes. Manage and prioritize development projects, including issue resolutions and enhancement requests
� Strong and effective inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff.
EDUCATION/ WORK EXPERIENCE:
� Bachelor�s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
� Substantial development experience, including a strong emphasis on database design and development.
� Significant experience working with SQLServer 2008, and the ability to write database queries and stored procedures
� Strong experience and proficiency with PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and C#
� Experience developing applications for the Apache Web Server
� Ability to design and develop software solutions, following best practices and design patterns
� Ability and desire to handle ongoing support and maintenance for existing software systems and databases
� Willingness and ability to work in a fast paced and agile development environment
� Able to provide mentoring to junior programmers and technical support personnel.
