| Description: | Parallel HR Solutions is searching for a senior IT infrastructure systems engineer. We have an opening for an �Application Systems Engineer� who will work with a large group of software developers and QA engineers in migrating applications (new and legacy) to new technologies, a 12-month project requiring strong leadership and communication skills.
NOTE: This is a CONTRACT position; the selected candidate may have the option to become a full-time employee of our client following completion of the 12-month project.

Parallel HR Solutions seeks an Application Systems Engineer to drive the integration and implementation of IT solutions. The Application Systems Engineer functions as the technical design lead for new projects and for the migration of legacy applications to current technologies. The Application Systems Engineer has the responsibility to design and/or validate application architectures for service delivery and coordinates the resolution of system-wide outages, and ensures appropriate documentation exist to build, install, manage and support the applications.
Assignments are of a dynamic nature; assigned projects and tasks will require broad industry and technical knowledge as well as exceptional organizational, communication, prioritization, and problem solving and leadership skills.

| Duties: | - Work closely with software and web development and QA organizations to ensure availability, capacity, configuration, governance, and release management standards are defined and implemented
- Responsibility for many systems that require 24x7 uptime
- Must be able to anticipate future trends and directions in the IT field with experience analyzing technology solutions and presenting recommendations without personal bias
- Ensure technical solutions leverage industry best practices, meet internal standards and are designed for performance, reliability, scalability, security, maintainability, supportability, business continuity, and business agility
- Ensure successful project engagement and execution
- Provide technical leadership for enterprise application technology initiatives
- Ensure technical solutions meet the needs of customers
- Understand Operating Level Agreement (OLA) commitment, measurement, and result
- Ensure design for excellence while minimizing the total cost of ownership

| Qualifications: | � Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, currently temple worthy.
� Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
� Expert knowledge of hardware and software technologies with 10 years experience of relevant industry experience
� Ability to diplomatically drive a project through to success within a standard process framework
� Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Experience designing solutions to meet high availability requirements
� Broad and deep understanding of Application Server, Web Server, Web Services, ESB, SOA, and File Delivery solutions within Information technology
� Competency for these technologies include IBM WebSphere v5/6/6.1, WAS CE , TomCat, WebLogic, Apache, IHS, NetWare and Windows FTP, IIS and .NET, Juniper SAA, and various industry tools for configuration and application monitoring and release management
� Ability to validate business requirements and synthesize complex technical details and design solutions to meet them
� Validate and enforce enterprise technical policies and standards in conjunction with architects and engineers\
� Ability to resolve technical issues spanning multiple technical and/or functional areas
Ability to work with and an understanding of, networking, operating systems (Unix/Linux/Windows), hardware, monitoring, intrusion detection, various computer languages, Oracle/SQL, PeopleSoft, LDAP, etc
