| Description: | Parallel HR Solutions is looking for an IBM AIX expert systems administrator/engineer.
NOTE: Relocation to Salt Lake City, UT is covered for the selected candidate.
What will you do as the Senior AIX Sys Admin?
• Work “hand-in-glove” with systems architects in designing enterprise class solutions based on the principles of redundancy, data integrity, security and recoverability.
• Engineer solutions to meet customer requirements based on current and future server platforms.
• Draft, update and follow best practices and standards documentation.
• Coordinate and perform maintenance activities in a large environment composed of a mix of different UNIX and Linux platforms and configurations.
• Trouble-shooting hardware, software and network related problems.
• Perform performance analysis and tuning for servers hosting large databases and other OLTP systems.
• Engineer server virtualization solutions to reduce cost and increase efficiencies.
• Good customer relationship skills.
• Innate understanding of the value of establishing and living efficient processes.
• Ability to adapt and learn new concepts and new software products.
• Able to work under stress and handle multiple critical priorities.

| Duties: | What qualifications must I have?
• Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive IBM AIX administration experience.
• Excellent UNIX performance tuning and analysis skills.
• Strong skills administering UNIX server systems utilizing SAN technologies.
• 6+ years experience in designing, implementing and supporting highly secure architectures.
• Strong network skills with TCP/IP, RCP, routing, proxy servers, IP load balancing required.
• Extensive knowledge of web technologies, operating systems, computer architectures and proven experience as a system administrator.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Capable of producing quality documentation.

| Qualifications: | Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints currently worthy to hold a temple recommend.
What qualifications will improve my chances?
• Experience with administration of Linux (SLES, RHEL) and Solaris a plus.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (PowerVM VIO, ESX) a plus. |
