About the Opportunity:

AdvancedMD Software is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Systems Administrator to work in an always on enterprise Software as a Service (Saas) environment.

The successful candidate will join a team of professionals who are responsible for systems and software administration in a production datacenter environment. AdvancedMD operates a rapidly expanding technology environment comprised of hundreds of servers, network devices, many SAN devices and over 800 production databases. Our primary infrastructure is comprised of Microsoft Server 2003/2008 operating systems and SQL Server 2005/2008 databases. AdvancedMD prides itself on strong philosophy of automation and deploying tools to increase efficiency. We also have mature documentation, development, testing, implementation and administration processes.
Duties:Job Responsibilities:

* Support the stability and operations of the AdvancedMD SaaS offering in a 24x7x365 highly available production data center setting, adhering to existing policies on changes & incident management.
* Install, configure, and maintain Windows 2003/2008 server environments performing pre/post provisioning tasks such as build out, inventorying, backups, monitoring, patching, and disaster recovery planning.
* Deploy servers, updates and new features to the AdvancedMD Application into production environments.
* Demonstrated ability to make good decisions that ensure quick resolution of events.
* Perform after-hours or weekend server maintenance as needed and participate in on-call rotation, receiving and responding to afterhours alerts.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-orientated environment.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet timelines and objectives in high pressure situations.
* Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
* Additional responsibilities as assigned by Management.

Qualifications:Job Requirements:

* Minimum of three years hands-on Windows Server 2003/2008 systems administration experience and support. Experience with highly available environments using VMware ESX and other server clustering solutions.
* Minimum of three years experience using server monitoring and reporting tools.
* Minimum of three years working in a mid to large sized data center environment.
* Minimum of three years experience designing, implementing, and supporting technologies such as DNS, IIS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL, CIFS, ADS, SNMP and other network services.
* Minimum of three years experience working with complex networking technologies, such as TCP/IP, layer 2/3 switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, web content filters, and VLANs.
* Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle, understanding the release processes for Integration, QA, Stage, and Production.
* Maintaining systems documentation.
* Coordinates systems repair with outside vendors and escalates unresolved problems to expedite resolution.


Experience Preferred:

* Strong expertise in designing and supporting NetApp SAN/NAS technologies.
* Automation scripting experience.
* Altiris server deployment management.
* HP Blade and ProLiant servers and associated technologies such as iLO.
* HP Systems Insight Manager.

Education and Experience Required:
* Certifications in Computer Information Systems or related field (MCSE preferred).
* Minimum of three years hands-on relevant technical experience.
* Degree in Computer Science or related Information Technology field.
