| Description: | Blackrock Microsystems manufactures a range of scientific equipment to record from the central and peripheral nervous system in both chronic and acute applications. The manufacturing division, located in the Research Park area near the University of Utah, is looking for a talented Purchaser / Planner. |
| Duties: | Duties and Responsibilities Include:
PURCHASING:
�Responsible for purchasing activities related to the procurement of materials, parts, equipment and services for the company.
�Ensures materials are received from proper vendors, delivered to inventory and finished goods, packaged according to specification and shipped in a timely manner.
�Manages the Non-conforming materials ensuring that they are reported, transacted in the ERP system and follows up to ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
�Develops, implements and maintains standard operating procedures for purchasing compliance to the quality system.
�Evaluates and performs continuous improvements methods to streamline and improve the procurement system.
�Evaluates vendor reliability, develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate.
�Establishes and modifies operational methods and procedures.
�Maintains Approved Vendor List and vendor surveys.
�Monitors cost and schedule to assure best quality at best value.
�Maintain compliance to the company�s Quality Systems.
�Maintains Costs and Planning Data in the ERP System.
PLANNING
�Plans, implements and maintains activities related to raw materials and finished goods.
�Reviews and plans material requirements to meet production schedules and ensure inventory levels are maintained and/or products are shipped on time.
�Assist in implementing and maintaining the MRP system
�Maintain compliance to the company�s Quality Systems.

| Qualifications: | Experience Required:
�Associates or Bachelor�s degree preferred
�Must have experience working with MRP systems
Required Skills and Qualifications:
�Bachelor�s degree
�Experience in inventory maintenance, cycle counting, material transfers
�Experience in purchasing and planning
�Proficient on the computer using Microsoft Office and an MRP/ERP system.
�Must have good organizational skills.
�Must be thorough and detail oriented.
�Must have excellent reading, writing and communication skills in the English language.
�Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
�Must have excellent problem solving skills.
�Must be able to handle stressful situations.
�Must have excellent people skills.
Desired Qualifications:
�Familiar with MRP Concepts
�Able to maintain records accurately
�Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices as required by the FDA Quality System Regulation or other regulatory agencies
Professional Certifications:
�CPIM preferred
�Lean manufacturing preferred
�Six sigma preferred
