| Description: | Bring your insurance or patient billing background to responsible role as an Accountant with the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Familiarity with medical billing, clinical research regulations, and accounting rules desired.

| Duties: | Daily:
� Update EPIC Billing Website
� Update uTRAC Billing
� Customer service to coordinators and staff in adhering to protocols
� Make reservations for patients for hotel stays
� Track charges that are pass through costs, copy and record for invoicing
� Enter/remove patients to/from uTRAC
� Add new trials to uTRAC
� Contacting vendors to make payment arrangements for services outside our facility that we are required to pay
� Deposits
� Assist pre-award team in identifying procedures for better budgeting
Weekly:
� Prepare check requests for patient stipends/reimbursements
� Update patient payments spreadsheet with charges based off of study visits
� Review SPRL for accuracy against protocol
� Spend time becoming familiar with protocols, review billing grids/calendar specifications and review up front for potential issues
� Review trials for close out of patient charges
� Filing
Quarterly:
� Review and post invoices from the Investigational pharmacy department

| Qualifications: | Bachelor�s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, plus one year related experience or equivalency required. A thorough understanding of general ledger accounting practices, cost analysis and accounting principles, as well as patient accounts and insurance company billing processes essential. Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, human relations and effective communication skills also required.
PREFERENCES
Familiarity with PowerChart and patient billing software such as EPIC preferred.
