Duties:Job Duties Include (but not limited to):
  • Lead the product development team through the FMEA process for new products 
  • Develop designed experiments to improve or qualify product features or improvements. 
  • Develop product qualification test plans and supervise the testing to ensure products are ready for manufacture. 
  • Work with engineering and the manufacturer to develop production test plans. 
  • Work with project and design engineering to develop first article test plans to meet performance specifications and regulatory compliance. 
  • Evaluate and propose continuous quality improvement plans including the coordination of corrective/preventative action plans and processes. 
  • Help test, evaluate and improve current and new products using statistical methods and designed experiments 
  • Analyze, evaluate and document inspection and test procedures as lead liaison between all contract manufacturers and manufacturing facilities, domestic and international. 
  • Serve as key contact for input and interpretation of all issues that impact quality and compliance. 
  • Identify product performance issues during new product development. 
  • Form and lead an engineering change management process that continually monitors and manages all design changes both internally and through our contract manufacturers. 
  • Own specification and documentation database for all products. 
  • Manage product quality assurance and reliability issues through recommendation and implementation of designed improvements. 
  • Interface with and support customer service in responding to product issues or returns, develop issue response plans and train customer service personnel on product functionality and issue resolution. 
  • Lead worldwide compliance testing and logo certifications, including the submission and communication process with test labs and certification entities. 
  • Document, review and improve processes to ensure a seamless regulatory certification process for all new products. 
  • Keep current on product quality and compliance trends and regulations, through a proactive approach in researching and interpreting new regulations and directives worldwide

Qualifications:Personality Synopsis: Traits of the Quality/Compliance Engineer include: results oriented and creative; strong project management skills, strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills; with entrepreneurial leanings. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team oriented, cross-functional and highly dynamic environment, meeting customer commitments and program deadlines.

Qualifications:
  • BS in Engineering and/or Technical Degree 
  • 5+ years of consumer electronics experience 
  • Proven knowledge and experience with quality systems (ex, ISO 9001, DoE, FMEA, etc) 
  • Knowledge and demonstrated application of statistical quality methods 
  • Six Sigma Black Belt a plus 
  • Proven knowledge and experience with compliance standards (ex, RoHS, FCC, UL, CE, WEEE, etc) 
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, oriented towards achieving objectives 
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
