We are looking for a Software Release Team Engineer to join our Product Release Team. The Software Release Team Engineer works with a focused team of motivated system administrators, developers, and quality assurance engineers in the development and release of Tomax' retail management software.
Duties include:
� Building and releasing software packages for a range of retail software products;
� Developing tools that improve the product engineering life cycle;
� Working closely with Development teams to ensure software is released only when appropriate and that build/configuration issues are resolved within a quality environment;
� Helping set and implement standards for the software development process and managing/maintaining tools such as CVS/Subversion, JIRA/Confluence, automated build scripts, product installers and other Configuration Management tools and frameworks;
� Providing support to engineering organizations with build management, release management and other configuration management services;
� Performing database loads, making backups and restores, and setting priorities for the database via written queries;
� Maintaining and developing new tools/frameworks that utilize Java and J2EE application technologies;
� Helping maintain internal development and QA environments;
� Participating in the planning, scheduling and execution of tasks to meet all milestones throughout the product life cycle; and
� Other tasks as assigned and needed.
The successful candidate must have the following:
� Bachelor�s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar area of study (experience is considered in lieu of a degree);
� 0-3 years experience in a software engineering or IT industry;
� Experience with two or more of the following script languages:
o Ant
o Make
o Maven
o Unix Shell/Bash
o Perl
o SQL
� Experience with any of the following tools:
o CVS/Subversion
o Maven
o CruiseControl
o Bamboo
� Experience deploying J2EE applications to Weblogic, Oracle, JBoss or other major application server platforms;
� Experience with UNIX/Linux and Windows;
� Experience with relational databases;
� Experience with Apache/HTTP, Java and C++;
� Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
� Results-oriented personality with the ability to meet tough deadlines; and
� Ability to work in a team environment.
