EQUELLA is a digital repository, developed by educators to solve content organization challenges across an academic enterprise. Using EQUELLA, universities, school districts, states and others can centralize, catalog and tag content for sophisticated reuse. Further, EQUELLA is designed to be integrated into an institution's environment and maintains the APIs to do so.
EQUELLA is an infinitely flexible, Java-based application. Its implementation requires thorough discovery, configuration and development. EQUELLA consultants lead customers through this process. Consultants provide best practices, EQUELLA subject matter expertise, solution architecture and development talent as well as a long-term perspective on proper content management.
SUMMARY
The Technical Consultant position is responsible for designing and implementing the EQUELLA software within enterprise environments. This includes developing a thorough understanding of customer needs and collaborating with both customer and internal project teams to design and develop solutions. Given the flexible nature of the software, its Technical Consultants maintain responsibilities ranging from infrastructure to programming. Additionally, this role is expected to support the sales team in pre-sales activities, maintain consultative relationships with customers and collaborate with software engineers on future product functionality.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Required technical skills include:
- EQUELLA experience a plus
- Java, PHP, Python and other programming language experience, SOAP, Rest, Javascript
- Apache, Tomcat experience
- Java application server experience
- Linux, Windows 2003/8 Server and Solaris operating system familiarity
- Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL database familiarity
Essential personal skills include:
- Quick learner of new and complex systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to speak Spanish a plus
The role will involve up to 50% travel with flexibility to work from home when not on the road and may be based anywhere south west.
Preferred 4-8 years of experience, however exceptional new graduates will be considered.
Some guidance on H1 candidates:
Make sure they are on the front end of the H1, not near expiry
I need to know the reliability and name of the sponsoring company
Make sure that there is minimal language barriers, as this is a customer-facing role. If H1, then the command of the English language is very important.
