| Description: | Our client is looking for database-fanatics to add to its Database operations team. We are looking for a MYSQL Database Operations Engineer that loves open source / development / operations. Our stack is RPM Based CentOS and we use OSS across the board. If you have 3 years of SQL experience along with 2-3 years of Linux Admin experience in a high volume traffic environment we want to talk to you! |
| Duties: | Strong candidates automate tasks, know the pros and cons of MyISAM vs. InnoDB, have an interest in building performing database systems at scale, and enjoy writing code. Individuals will play a key role in the forward momentum and evolution of this team as we focus on automation, data collection, and event correlation. We're an agile shop that loves to iterate fast and release often. We're most interested in people with combined database and systems experience, who can create, have vision and own a project. Individuals who also have development experience in scripting languages like python, ruby, or perl are preferred.

| Qualifications: | Responsibilities
Work with developers on database design and new feature rollout.
Tune our databases like a champ: IO tuning, query optimization, indexing.
Monitor databases for performance issues before they occur.
Write scripts and build tools if needed, leverage existing solutions if available.
Requirements
3+ years MySQL experience.
2+ years of experience as a DBA in a high traffic environment.
Proficient tuning MySQL processes and queries
Excellent communication skills and problem-solving expertise
