The Pre-Sales Engineer will be challenged with presenting, architecting, and doing the first phase of implementing cloud solutions. The pre-sales engineer may need to develop new strategies and technologies for clients who are just defining their cloud implementations. With cloud-computing technologies evolving on a daily basis, you will be challenged to find solutions no one has architected before and will be expected to strategize and work through them in short timeframes.
Responsibilities
Present a technical cloud solution in a professional manner to customer�s in-person, via email, and by phone.
Creating and presenting real-time demonstrations both in person and via webinars. Must be able to run both command-line centric and GUI-centric interfaces. Must be able to proficiently answer at a deep level all common technical questions that arise in the demonstrations.
Work with customers to determine customer needs and current situation. Develop proposed solutions supported by Adaptive Computing products. Estimate level of effort and time lines for proposed solutions. Effectively present solutions to customers and other co-workers.
Train small and medium groups in the use of software and other technologies.
Requirements of Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or a related field, Master�s Degree preferred
Experience in software technical sales at the CIO level
Experience in Linux scripting, systems design, software design theory and networking
Experience in presenting complex technical topics to both technical and business audiences
Experience in presenting IT solutions to large groups and presenting in conference settings

| Qualifications: | Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to travel 40-50% of the time (Both domestically and internationally)
Data center virtualization and automation software
Ability to think quickly and precisely in a changing environment
Ability to receive US security clearance
Linux fluency and scripting (server administration a plus)
Systems design and software design theory
IT Management Experience
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Data center administration
Familiarity with Perl programming language
Familiarity with gdb, valgrind, autoconf, make, and other Linux development tools
Good grasp of multi-platform portability issues and concerns
Virtualization technology experience
Ability to receive US security clearance |
