| Location: | Provo, UT | | Salary Range: | DOE | | Employment Type: | Full Time | | Employer: | Career Step | | Description: | The Systems Administrator is responsible for several aspects of systems administration including networks, applications, computer and printing hardware, and telecommunications. This includes implementation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, and usage monitoring of internal and external systems. This person will also perform basic systems security administration functions, including creating customer profiles and accounts, monitor and manage system resources; perform systems backups and recovery procedures, and maintain system documentation and logs. In addition, this individual will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user training and support where required.
Responsibilities:
� Evaluate, test, and deploy software and hardware upgrades to client machines and server infrastructure
� Proactive monitoring of servers, applications and services using a combination of tools to ensure high availability
� Provide Help Desk assistance to Career Step employees, services, computers and computing and printing equipment
� Assist in the maintenance of Career Step�s phone system and services
� Assist in the management of company email systems
� Perform regular and on-demand system backups and recoveries
� Assist in developing, implementing, testing and maintaining server level disaster recovery plans.
� Collect and review system data for capacity and planning purposes
� Assist in the managing & troubleshooting of networks, intranet & Internet connectivity throughout the organization
� Work closely with the IT team to provide end-user support and issue resolution
� Create and maintain documentation for IT processes and procedures
� Coordinate and work with the rest of the IT team to meet the team objectives
� Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair computer equipment.
� Provide user PC hardware/software phone support.
� Work closely with other IT support personnel and team members on special projects as required.
� Install and configure PC and Mac software and computer peripherals.
� Learn and implement new software and operating systems.
� Maintain clear, concise, and consistent logs of work performed.
� Act as a mediator between computer hardware/software manufacturers and users to resolve operational and service issues.

Qualifications:
� High school diploma with 2-4 years of related technical and/or customer service experience required.
� 2 plus years experience in Systems Administration
� 2 plus years experience with hardware diagnostics and repair
� Solid experience in TCP/IP and SNMP network design and administration, including VLAN implementations
� Experienced with Exchange, Backup Exec, Apache, CVS, Subversion, Windows Server Update Service, Active Directory, DNS, SELinux, TrendMicro, and Whatsupgold.
� Experienced with VMWare ESXi with VSphere.
� Advanced knowledge of installations, upgrades and troubleshooting of Windows, MAC, FreeBSD, and Linux systems
� Working knowledge of hosted Web Applications is desirable
� Able to interact with all levels of Management.
� Excellent problem solving skills
� Able to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to change.
� Must be customer service oriented and punctual.
� Excellent written and oral communication skills.
� Self-starter and works well with little supervision.
� Able to lift and carry 25lbs.
Relocation is not available for this positon.
