Utah Fund of Funds Associate Position

The Utah Fund of Funds associate position main responsibilities involve working with Utah entrepreneurs and assisting them in getting connected to relevant venture capital and private equity funds interested in evaluating Utah deals. The associate position is also responsible for various Utah Fund of Funds events which cover entrepreneurial workshops, CEO networking events, venture capital multi-day hostings, Utah Fund of Funds two day annual events and more.

The associate position has a number of additional tasks and duties:

• Attend Utah�s networking and industry conferences, seminars, forums and events, like: MWCN, UTC, Wayne Brown, ACG, UVEF and many more.
• Visit with Utah entrepreneurs and companies
• Evaluate their investment proposals
• Assess the quality, stage and potential
• Provide advice on fund raising from VC and PE funds
• Make improvement recommendations
• Make introductions between company and VC, PE, and angel groups
• Locate and build relationship with Utah companies and entrepreneurs
• Follow up
• Plan, organize and execute on Utah Fund of Funds events and programs:
• Networking events
• Workshops
• Forums
• Speaking engagements
• Annual events
• Hall of Fame
• Sundance
• Others
• Host VC and PE professionals in Utah
• Build strong relationships with 50 or more VC and PE Groups
• Set up visits
• Set up meetings
• Plan breakfast, lunch & dinner meetings
• Plan travel and transport individuals
• Office Manager
• Pay bills
• File
• Mail
• Office orders
• Plants
• Reimbursements
• Etc.
• Manage Board Meetings
• Schedule meetings
• Plan meetings
• Take and draft minutes
• Manage Interns
• Assist in locating, interviewing and accepting interns
• Train interns

• Supervise interns

Skill set: Ability to communicate effectively � spoken and written, experience in start up and finance, strong at networking � very comfortable talking with strangers and extending yourself to new people, skilled at using the computer; internet and Microsoft�s office suite.

Average work week is 60 hours.  Associate will often work late and or early but there is strong flexibility in work schedule so long as work gets done.  Not all hours must be at the office. 
Travel is about 10%.

Salary: $53,000 per year
Bonus: Up to 20% - paid annually
Healthcare, vision & dental provided for staff and family for $75 per month � Corporation pays the bulk of the expense.
