The Opportunity

As the Director of Product Management, you will be the driving force behind the inception, planning, development and delivery of new products and features to market and will implement strategic product decisions on existing products. This is a newly created functional position within AdvancedMD which will give you the opportunity to build and guide a dynamic PM team to balance our future vision, near term opportunities, customer requirements, and day-to-day product issues. This is a highly visible, strategic position with broad responsibility.

Duties:The ideal candidate possesses a unique blend of business acumen and is technically savvy; a big-picture vision, with the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Direct, establish, maintain, and plan the overall policies and goals for a product management department
• Develop and maintain a long-term product roadmap based on customer input and analysis of market and technology trends
• Drive product release strategy, interacts with sales, development, and product marketing to define these requirements, and directs interaction with engineering and operations on product development
• Develop a clear and compelling business case for all products and major features in the development pipeline by creating and gaining a consensus for all business and product requirements documentation
• Manage the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
• Define and maintain product pricing and licensing terms
• Conduct market research, technology assessments and competitive analysis. Size the market, gathering and analyzing product performance, operational metrics, and win/loss analysis in order to drive individual product strategy
• Own and manage justification for new features and products including revenue forecasting, potential market penetration, and development expenses
• Manage a diverse team of product managers, product marketing managers, business analysts, and project managers

Key Accomplishments:

During the first six months in this position, the Product Management Director will be expected to:

• Complete a calibration of current products
• Establish a formal process for product management within the organization
• Create a short-term product roadmap showing existing feature themes and near term feature enhancements
• Manage internal, matrixed personnel
• Develop a competitive feature analysis
• Refine and formalize the current feature and product pricing model

Long term (18 months) deliverables include:

• Product Management department fully staffed and functioning
• Long-term, detailed, product roadmap completed
• Market segmentation completed
• Comprehensive collateral, pricing, and sales models established and adopted
• Revenue and market penetration forecast completed
Qualifications:Qualifications:

• Strong customer orientation with the ability to listen, organize and champion key initiatives and projects for product development
• Must possess an in-depth understanding of Web and SaaS foundations and have significant exposure to system development and full product life-cycle methodologies
• Experience with Agile / SCRUM product methodology preferred
• Demonstrated success defining and launching products; web based services preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop a professional staff
• Excellent leadership, negotiation & persuasion skills; ability to build cross functional consensus
• Possess strong facilitation, coordination, organization, problem solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Profit & Loss responsibility preferred
• 5 + years of leading product management in the Healthcare IT industry required
• Related bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred
• This position will require some travel to customer and non-customer sites
